Grand Horticultural Show
Dover Town Council is hosting a Horticultural Show over the weekend of 16th/17th August 2008 in Pencester Gardens, Dover Town Centre. This event is part of the Festival of Dover 2008 which aims to support all the activities which Dover has to offer.
This is a great opportunity for children to get involved. There are going to be a number of competitions for them to choose from and enter into, like the following:
1. Create a miniature garden tray/box (they shouldn’t exceed 30cm x 30cm).
2. Arrange a mixed flower display
3. Design a gardening poster or a collage
4. Make a monster made out of vegetables/fruit
These competitions will be carried out in 3 different age groups: up to 7 years, 8 – 11 years and 12 – 15 years. There will be a winner chosen from each age group. There will be prizes and certificates in each category for the winners and runners up.
